Terms of Service
1. What Vala is — and is not
Vala is a browser-based, non-custodial interface operated by the Vala team. It aggregates market data and account data you choose to connect, and helps you stage orders that only you can submit. Vala is not an exchange, broker, custodian, investment adviser or money transmitter. Vala never takes possession or control of your assets, and no credential type it accepts carries withdrawal permission.
2. Your responsibilities
- Create exchange API keys with least-privilege scopes (read-only, or trade with withdrawals off) and keep them secure. You control key permissions at your exchange — not Vala.
- Every order is yours: all execution paths end in a ticket that you explicitly confirm. Review each ticket before pressing Execute.
- Comply with the laws of your jurisdiction and with the terms of each venue you connect.
- Confirm you are not a restricted person under section 7 before using derivatives functionality.
3. Beta software; no warranty
Vala is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Numbers shown — including netted exposure, greeks, funding, margin, liquidation estimates and yields — may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Surfaces labelled SAMPLE or DEMO are illustrative only.
4. No financial advice
Nothing in Vala — including responses generated by the Ask Vala assistant — constitutes investment, legal, accounting or tax advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy or sell any asset. Trading cryptoassets and derivatives carries a substantial risk of loss, including loss of your entire position.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, funds, data or goodwill arising from or relating to your use of Vala, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
6. Third-party venues and data
Vala connects to third-party exchanges, protocols and data sources we do not control. Their availability, accuracy, fees and terms are theirs alone; your relationship with each venue is governed by that venue's own terms.
7. Restricted persons and jurisdictions
Derivatives-related functionality is not offered to persons located in, incorporated in, or resident of the United States of America, or any jurisdiction where such access would be unlawful, or to persons subject to sanctions administered by OFAC, the UN, the EU or the UK. Circumventing geographic or venue restrictions (including via VPN) is a breach of these terms and of the connected venues' terms.
8. Fees
Vala is currently free in beta. Vala may in future receive disclosed builder, referral or routing fees from venues on orders you choose to execute; any such fee will be disclosed in the app before it applies.
9. Acceptable use
You may not use Vala to break the law, to abuse or overload connected venue APIs, or to probe, disrupt or reverse the service for malicious purposes. We may suspend or discontinue access to protect the service or its users.
10. Changes
We may modify or discontinue Vala, or update these terms, at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Contact
Questions or notices: use /feedback in the app (top bar → ✦ Ask Vala), or the waitlist reply channel. This page will carry the operating entity's legal details when incorporation completes.
